RPI Women's Club Soccer
The Women's Club Soccer team aims to play in a competitive, talented, and fun environment, without the major time commitment of a varsity sport, but still playing at a high level. The team roughly consists of 30 girls.
We play in NIRSA - the National Intramural-Recreation Sports Association under the Collegiate Club Soccer League (Region 1). Our season is mainly during the fall semester where we host other colleges for games as well as go to other colleges in our region. Typically, we will have a single game a week at times there will be a second game that we'll play. During the spring semester, we participate in various tournaments such as the Collegiate Indoor Soccer Tournaments down in Philadelphia and Women's Soccer Tournament at Niagara Falls which takes place over the weekend which does not conflict with any classes. In addition to tournaments, the women's club soccer does service events that help out the local community.
Tryouts are held both in the fall and spring semester. For more information contact see the contact information below. Additionally, keep an eye out for the Women's Club Soccer table during the Activities Fair in the fall and at Student Acceptance Day in the spring.
We practice 2-3 times a week on either Lower Renwyck Turf field or on Harkness Turf field. The exact timing varies depending on field availability. We understand that classes may conflict with these times, so we try to find times that the majority of the players can attend and believe school comes first.
The Women's Club Soccer team co-hosts an NRB (Navigating Rensselaer and Beyond) event with the Men's Club Soccer team in the fall for all incoming freshmen.
